MUTTENZ, SWITZERLAND – 17 March 2020. With the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation developing quickly, we believe it is important to be transparent about how Thommen is responding to the outbreak. Our philosophy is to approach this situation with empathy and urgency; Thommen’s top priority is the health and safety of our employees, customers, partners, and suppliers.

Following the guidelines issued by the Swiss authorities, we are rolling out our contingency plan to guarantee business continuity and provide our customers and suppliers with appropriate response and service. Given how rapidly the outbreak is evolving, we expect to iterate on our approach constantly to ensure the health and safety of all.

Employee Travel
All company-related travel is currently suspended until further notice. We believe that limiting travel is our safest and best option for reducing the risks of infection and spreading the virus.

Remote Work
Thommen is progressively implementing remote work for its employees, whenever practicable, to ensure minimal physical presence at the office, thereby reducing exposure and propagation. You can contact your usual party via email or via phone with no change as we will reroute individual telephone lines to cellular phone numbers.

Thommen Office Visits
For anyone planning to visit Thommen, we encourage you postpone your trip. Our front desk will be manned only during mornings, from 08:00 until 12:00 AM CET, mainly to ensure the reception of incomings goods and mail. We strongly discourage any unplanned visit at our facility as there will only be limited staff working physically at the office.

Business Continuity
Thommen maintains business continuity focusing both on production and maintenance activities. Whenever customer-impacting situations occur, Thommen’s goal is to quickly and transparently isolate and address the issue. Identified issues will be communicated to the impacted party and subsequently updated until the issue is resolved. Priority will be given to AOG situations and activities which cannot be postponed. Our goal is to maintain capacity to ensure the production and delivery of our products for exisiting orders as well as for new orders.

Contingency Plan Communications
At this time, we are doubling down on our commitment to transparency and sharing information rapidly as the situation develops. We will update our employees, customers, partners, and suppliers on the latest developments as soon as possible. Our website will continue to function normally and we encourage you to check our latest announcements and information.

In this stressful time around the world, we want to do everything we can to minimize panic and maximize safety. We hope this information is helpful in understanding how Thommen is responding to coronavirus, and would like to thank everyone for their understanding and support.
